I’m writing this week’s post In The Name Of Jesus! Why? Well why not. It appears that everything Christians want to do they just stick, “In The Name Of Jesus!” after it and for some reason it becomes relevant and acceptable. Some of these causes are quite positive: Feed the Hungry, Clothe the Naked, Home the Homeless, etc. Some are quite negative: Blow Up the Clinic of the Non-Exploded, Shoot the Doctor you Don’t Agree With, Picket the Dead Soldier Who Died for Your Right to Picket, etc.
And then we have the just plain silly: Pole Dancing for Jesus.
”]”]Now I accept that the fervently religious do many things “In The Name Of Jesus!” but I’m still scouring the Bible to find the chapter on pole dancing. Maybe I’m using the wrong version but it has eluded me. There is the blurb about David dancing before the Lord in 2 Samuel 6:14–15. There is a sort of “pole” in the picture, which is really a column, but my interpretation is that it’s a pole.
“And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.”
So without further ado, for those of you that missed the worldwide coverage here is “Pole Dancing for Jesus.” I commend the young lady that started this and wish her luck.
